How To DIY Glitter Shoes

These do it yourself glitter shoes are so much fun to make and a great way to spruce up a boring pair of pumps! You can do so many different colors or combinations of colors! This would be a great project if you or your little girl are dressing up as Dorothy this Halloween and don’t want to buy the shoes! It’s a very simple project, doesn’t take a whole lot of time, and is pretty affordable! Let’s get started on how to get these pretty pumps!

Money Spent: $5

Supplies Needed: a pair of heels, glue, glitter

Time spent: 35 minutes

Procedure:
Before we start, I would suggest doing this particular project outside because it does get pretty messy!

  1. First, I would suggest putting something inside of the shoe such as paper towels or tissue paper because I did not and I got glitter stuck in my shoes and it got all over my feet when I went to wear them!
  2. Next, you can use any type of glue but I chose to you spray adhesive that I got at Wal-Mart for about $3! I would imagine just white glue or mod podge would be a great option as well!
  3. Finally, just start sprinkling the glitter on until the shoe is fully covered and you can’t see any of the color of your heel through the glitter.
  4. Allow about 20 minutes for it to dry!

I really enjoyed doing this project! I ended up using the heels for a friend for a photoshoot that I conducted! But like I said, I think it would be a GREAT idea to use this for Halloween! If you don’t have a plain pair of pumps you’re willing to part with you can find a pair at Goodwill for $1-$3! That’s where I got this pair! Have fun glittering!

Those turned out great! What a clever idea. Pinned to try. I really want some fun purple heels for my costume this year and this looks like an easy way to make them.
