If you’re wondering how to have a hygge Christmas, this is the year to make it happen.

You’ll learn that the holiday season is the perfect time to slow down and take some time for yourself.

It’s a chance to recharge and be thankful for the year, even though it may not have been the best.

Most of all, it’s a time to reconnect with yourself in a way that will also prepare you to kick off the New Year.

How To Have a Hygge Christmas

It’s no secret that we rush life, work, and watch the minutes pass by every day.

But does that really have to be the norm? Does this have to be our everyday life, rushing and nothing else?

If you’re asking me, the answer is “no,” and telling yourself to slow down and have a hygge Christmas might just be what you need.

How is Hygge pronounced?

If you need help saying it (because I did), the correct way to pronounce hygge is “hoo-guh”.

Can you hygge alone?

You bet! This might be the way that you prefer to hygge!

And keep in mind that how you hygge doesn’t mean that it’s how everyone is going to hygge.

Each person can relax and do their own thing, and most importantly, in their own way.

Ways to have a hygge Christmas

I’ve created a free printable below that can help you hygge easily for Christmas.

It’s a great reference point to look at daily. When you’re starting to feel stressed, step back and realize that there are things you can do to calm down.

Some ways to hygge at home are:

  • Light candles
  • Bake cookies
  • Wear soft and fuzzy socks
  • Drink hot chocolate again and again
  • Cozy up with blankets
  • Build a fire in the fireplace
  • Work on an indoor hobby
  • Read books

The list goes on and on.

Basically, do anything that you find comfortable and relaxing.

It’s that time of year when it’s okay to slow down and enjoy the moment.
