Lavender & Limoncello Gin Martini

Spring is on its way, and that is cause for celebration. So, let’s raise a glass to our Lavender & Limoncello Gin Martini.

This refreshing sipper is imbued with bright citrus courtesy of the limoncello liqueur and light floral notes from the lavender syrup.

Although your favorite gin will do, we selected Hendrick’s Grand Cabernet for this drink.

This unique gin is infused with the expected juniper, but you will also pick up citrus and the surprise of angelica root, hibiscus, rosehipstone fruit, and sweet herbs.

What You Will Need:

Limoncello Liqueur. Limoncello liqueur brings a bright, citrusy sweetness that forms the heart of the drink.

Gin adds botanical depth and a crisp, clean finish, complementing the lemon and floral notes.

Lavender Syrup. Mineral Water. Lavender syrup has a soft, aromatic sweetness that pairs beautifully with gin and limoncello. Mineral water, especially with a hint of lime like Topo Chico, adds effervescence and cuts the sweetness for a refreshing lift.

Can I Make This Cocktail without Gin?

Yes, you can substitute the gin for vodka.

You can also leave out the gin and make this a low-ABV cocktail by using limoncello and sparkling water.

What Kind Of Gin Works Best?

A floral-forward gin like Empress 1908, Hendrick’s, or Bloom enhances the botanical notes.

If you prefer a more classic, crisp martini, go with a London Dry style like Tanqueray or Beefeater.

Can I Make This Cocktail Ahead of Time?

Yes, you can make this cocktail beforehand. Mix the limoncello and lavender syrup in advance and chill.

When ready to serve, shake with ice, strain into glasses, and top with cold sparkling water to preserve the fizz.

Do I have to use Topo Chico?

No, any citrus or plain sparkling water works, but Topo Chico Lime adds great flavor and fizz.

Where Can I Get the Lavender Syrup?

Lavender syrup is available at many specialty grocery stores (like World Market or Home Goods) and online retailers like Amazon.

You can also make it at home by simmering equal parts water and sugar with dried culinary lavender. Strain and cool before using.
