Christmas in the Worthey house is our Superbowl. We love watching our favorite Christmas movies as a family, decorating the whole house, and finding ways to give back during the holiday season. The holidays involve handling fickle teens, creating a full holiday menu, prepping our home to entertain guests, and finding ways to spark Christmas cheer.
Here on This Worthey Life, our readers are looking for new spins on traditional recipes. They love our Elf on the Shelf ideas, as well as our time-saving hacks. Our readers are busy moms and families looking for gift ideas for their teens, sensory activities for their kids on the Autism Spectrum, and places to travel this holiday season. They also love Derrick’s creative cocktail creations, as well as new ways to make their stuffing (or dressing).
New tradition last year: taking the youngest to pick the Christmas tree
CREATING NEW TRADITIONS:
This holiday season we are focused on family and creating new traditions. Over the last three years, Tatanisha’s parents passed away, as well as Derrick’s mom. With the matriarchs from both sides of the family gone, who picks up the mantle? Derrick and Tatanisha explore ways to create new traditions with their boys and their immediate family.
We will also be sharing some of our favorite holiday traditions growing up, including our favorite recipes.
Wouldn’t it be awesome to have your tableware showcased here?
Working with us this holiday season, we can easily create and customize your product to be showcased in a beautifully styled layout.
FOOD + ENTERTAINING
While Derrick is in the kitchen putting together a heavenly and delicious holiday dinner with accompanied cocktails, Tatanisha is challenging herself to come up with holiday decor and table setting to outdo last’s year decorations.
Showcasing your brand in a fun and festive cocktail is a great way to bring on the Christmas cheer (responsibly of course!).
We work closely together on creating new recipes for our friends and family, prepping our house for the holidays, all while working full-time and keeping up with our three boys and two dogs.
This year our Labradoodle, Chance will celebrate his first Christmas. We will be sharing tips on keeping your pets safe during the holiday season, as well as ways to involve your pets in your holiday plans.
Once the kids hit a certain age, scrambling to find the hottest toy is no longer on parents shopping list. What do teens want? This is a question we get asked quite often. This year we will continue to explore gift ideas for tweens and teens. We will also tackle how to get teens involved in the holiday season, without it being a chore.
Teens easily check out during this time of year, wanting to spend time on all of their gadgets and skip out on family fun. We will give parents tips on how to get and keep their teens engaged this holiday season.
Traveling during the holiday season can be hectic. We will be sharing tips on traveling with the family during the holidays, best Christmas towns in the Midwest and beyond to visit, and recipe ideas that are great for traveling (storage, keeping them cool, etc.).
