easy fall cocktails

Apple Cider Persimmon Cocktail

There is something so chill about fall; things get cooler but that’s a given, right? What draws me into the cool mood of fall is the slower vibe, crisp cleansing air, and staying in and relaxing. For me, autumn is all about getting cozy and enjoying our inside spaces a little bit more.

Because when the temperatures drop, I am so okay with a lot more cozy time with our delicious Apple Cider Persimmon cocktail in hand.

Here’s What You’ll Need To Make Our Apple Cider Persimmon Cocktail:

Whiskey. I’m partial to bourbon whiskey, but grab your favorite whiskey and let’s make a drink! This cocktail also works well with spiced rum, your favorite brandy, or cognac. I also love using a quality sloe gin. For this variation, we’re partial to Sipsmith’s Sloe Gin but I’m just bougie like that way!

Apple Liqueur. A good apple liqueur tastes like fall, and that’s so appropriate because fall and apples go together like grandma’s apple pie and vanilla ice cream. I highly recommend using Berentzen ApfelKorn apple liqueur.

Apple Cider. Apple Cider gives this simple fall cocktail and rustic autumnal stance. If you can get unfiltered apple cider even better.

easy homemade simple syrup

How to make Persimmon Syrup

Homemade Maple Persimmon Syrup. When it comes to homemade simple syrups they’re the best. The recipe is so easy, in a saucepan over medium-low heat add a cup of water and a single cup of light brown sugar. Keep stirring, the mixture will be cloudy but after 2-3 minutes until the mixture isn’t cloudy. Add 4-5 thinly sliced persimmon, and 1/8 tsp of ground cardamom and stir. Allow the mixture to come to a low boil then remove from heat.

Add 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup and place a tight-fitting lid onto the saucepan. Let the homemade maple persimmon syrup steep for 15-minutes. Pour the mixture into a sterile Mason style jar and make sure the lid is tightened. Homemade simple syrup will keep in the fridge for up to a month.
