Take the original Krispies recipe and turn it into something a little different. I love just about anything chocolate. Then you add some caramel and you have a slamming treat! This is a great dessert recipe idea for the kids and adults. Spray an 8”x8” baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
Put a large pot over low heat and melt butter. Once butter is melted, add marshmallows and continue stirring until melted. Add in the 20 caramel pieces, stir until melted. Remove from heat and mix in chocolate rice krispies. Continue mixing until evenly incorporated. Pour into 8”x8” dish making sure to spread evenly and press firmly. Set aside and let cool.
While cooling, melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or in microwave. Pour chocolate over bars and with a spoon or spatula, spread to cover evenly.
Melt remaining caramel pieces in microwave, stirring every 15 seconds or so. With spoon, drizzle over top of chocolate layer until gone.
Let bars cool completely for several hours, or put into the refrigerator for about an hour. Bars are completely cooled when chocolate layer is solid. Cut with knife to desired size. Enjoy!
