List Of Disney + Marvel Movies Coming Out This Year + The Ones We Can’t WAIT To See!

It’s only March, and Disney and Marvel have been SLAYING at the box office! With Black Panther sliding into the $1 BILLION seat of tickets sold this past weekend (and just only in theaters for about a month), these giant companies know how to produce some major hits.

And, they are just getting started. Disney has quite the line-up this year, and along with Marvel’s help, they will be hitting quite a few home runs.

Of course, everyone has their favorite movie, but there are TWO movies this whole family is STOKED about seeing this year.

Marvel Studios’ AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR..L to R: War Machine (Don Cheadle), Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlet Johansson), Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Black Panther/T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman)..Photo: Film Frame..©Marvel Studios 2018

First, Avengers: Infinity War (in theaters April 27th, 2018)

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.

After going on the Thor Ragnarok and Black Panther press junkets, and meeting several of the Marvel cast in person, I feel a deeper connection to my favorite superheroes.

This is an all-star studded cast, and I can’t wait to see how all of these high-profile characters work together in one movie. I mean, we’eve seen the Avengers before, but with many more characters added to this one, like Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Okeyo, Shuri, M’Baku, we are all counting down to April 27th!

When does Incredibles 2 Come Out

Next up, Incredibles 2 {in theaters June 15, 2018}

It’s a tie in our house about who’s more excited about Incredibles 2 versus Avengers: Infinity War! When Black Panther came out, Zion stated that he was more excited about seeing Incredibles 2 instead of Black Panther. Derrick and I almost disowned him that day! (lol) Considering that it’s been about 10 years since the first Incredibles movie, the twins were about 6.

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.

When Does Wreck-It Ralph 2 come out?

Third, Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph {in theaters November 21,2018}

My boys fell in love with Ralph and his need to destroy things. Boys, right? I love the message from Wreck-It Ralph. While everyone wanted him to do that one thing- destroy things, he wanted a different life, a family and to be loved. I’m super excited to see/hear Taraji P. Henson in a kid’s movie. I’m sure she is going to bring the comedy!

“Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.” Directed by Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) and Phil Johnston (co-writer “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Cedar Rapids,” co-writer “Zootopia,”), and produced by Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt”), “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-Ralph 2” hits theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.

Mary Poppins Returns
Jack (lin-Manuel Miranda), Annabel (Pixie Davies), Georgie (Joel Dawson), John (Nathanael Saleh) and Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) in Disney’s original musical MARY POPPINS RETURNS, a sequel to the 1964 MARY POPPINS which takes audiences on an entirely new adventure with the practically perfect nanny and the Banks family.

Fourth, Mary Poppins Returns { December 25, 2018}

On Christmas Day, I get an awesome treat. I LOVED the original Mary Poppins. It was one of my favorite movies growing up. I’m super curious to get to relive some of my childhood memories with the return of Mary Poppins. I might be the only one in the Worthey house excited about this one, but hey, that’s practically perfect in every way! the last time I remember seeing Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep in a movie was The Devil Wears Prada. I am looking forward to seeing them back at it once again!

In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all-new sequel with a fresh sensibility that celebrates the spirit of the original, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Emily Blunt (“The Girl on the Train,” “Into the Woods”) stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”) plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London. “Mary Poppins Returns” is directed by Rob Marshall (“Into the Woods,” “Chicago”). The screenplay is by David Magee (“Life of Pi”) and the screen story is by Magee & Marshall & John DeLuca (“Into the Woods”) based upon The Mary Poppins Stories by PL Travers. The film also stars Ben Whishaw (“Spectre”) as Michael Banks; Emily Mortimer (“Hugo”) as Jane Banks; Julie Walters (“Harry Potter” films) as the Banks’ housekeeper Ellen; with Colin Firth (“The King’s Speech”) as Fidelity Fiduciary Bank’s William Weatherall Wilkins; and Meryl Streep (“Florence Foster Jenkins”) as Mary’s eccentric cousin, Topsy and introduces three new Banks’ children played by Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh and newcomer Joel Dawson. Angela Lansbury appears as the Balloon Lady, a treasured character from the PL Travers books and Dick Van Dyke is Mr. Dawes Jr., the retired chairman of the bank now run by Firth’s character.

SOLO Stars Wars Movie

Fifth, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY (Lucasfilm) {May 25, 2018}

I’ll share a little secret. I have never watched a Stars Wars movie. But, the men in this house are BIG Star Wars fans, so I would say that this would tie in 3rd or 4th place on our list of movies we’re excited about this year. The boys have watched every single Star Wars movie with Derrick (including the original Star Wars movies). So, I let them have this as their thing.

While they are excited about a new Star Wars movie, I’ll be flying around with an umbrella. 😉

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Disney Christopher Robin

Six, Disney’s Christopher Robin {August 3, 2018}

Another childhood favorite memory is Winnie-The-Pooh! I used to LOVE watching Pooh and the gang. When the boys were little, we would watch them together. Well, Christopher Robin and the gang are back!

In the heartwarming live action adventure “Disney’s Christopher Robin,” the young boy who loved embarking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with a band of spirited and loveable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it’s up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.
