Fall Harvest Party Idea

One of my favorite seasons is here, FALL!! I love the crisp air, the changing of the leaves, apple cider, hot chocolate, football games, and of course, comfort food. Many people love this time of year because it’s pumpkin season.

I’ll keep it 100%; I’m not a HUGE fan of pumpkin. I mean, it’s okay. But am I going out and buying everything pumpkin?

No, I’m not that friend.

I like pumpkin, but I don’t LOVE all things pumpkin. It’s still growing on me. However, Derrick made a Pumpkin No-Bake Cheesecake Oatmeal Crisp, which was, surprisingly, good. However, it still had TOO much pumpkin in it for me, but with the other flavors mixed in it turned out to be a good fall treat.

Are you planning any harvest parties this year? Having a fall harvest party can also be a fun football party. And with Derrick’s cocktail idea of an Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail, plus a few appetizers, you’re ready to pull off a FAB party!

We put together a fall party idea; you can check out below.

Fall Owl Tablescape Idea

First, I have to say; I am LOVE with everything owl. Owl decor is also a hot trend this season. I picked up with my white owl salad plates from Pier 1 last year. I love to shop at the end of each season to find amazing clearance deals.

Down the center of the table, I added a chevron pattern runner with rust and white, this draws the eye to the center of the table, and here we added several complementing accents.  For this tablescape idea, I did not buy anything new. Well, unless you count the fresh mums I picked up from my local farmer’s market.  The owl vase also came from Pier 1.

Another clearance score was this beautiful off-white and gold glass Fall Harvest pumpkin.  By practicing delayed gratification, I was able to score two of them at 80% off!  I used small hints of gold throughout this design.

For instance, the glassware has a gold trim, and I used gold silverware (Target).

Here’s how I set each place setting:

Start with a dinner napkin. In this design, I used a fancy white with orange stripe dish cloth. I started using dish clothes last year and loved how they look in a tablescape. (You can see the one I did in my Merry Christmas theme).  As you can see I’m not using chargers in this design. The dish cloth, in my opinion, is my “dinner charger.” Plus, it’s one less thing to pull out, clean, and put away.

I placed a plain white dinner plate down, followed by the owl salad plate. On the left of each dinner plate, I put a wheat stem. To the right of each dinner plate, I set a pumpkin soup bowl. When I saw these last year at Pier I, I HAD to have them. (see how I used them in a Thanksgiving dinner theme)

I wrapped up each place setting with a glass on the left of each place setting. I’ve had this set of glassware for several years. {do you see my mistake? I placed the spoon and knife in the wrong order. The knife should have been first. However, sometimes I don’t get too caught up in the order of things. But just in case you do, the knife would be placed down first, then the spoon.}

Here’s another look at these adorable pumpkin soup bowls, with a lid! This is a great way to serve the soup ahead of time and keep it warm.

I love how everything came together. And our new dining room table complements this theme.

Fall Harvest Party Idea

A few weekends ago, on yet another trip to World Market, I fell in love with this table. Our previous dining room table was something we purchased at IKEA to use temporarily until I found something I loved. It had a shabby chic look, which I liked, but didn’t love it in my dining room. When Derrick and I saw this table, we knew it was the right one. It has a clean, contemporary, yet modern look. We also purchased the bench. I still have to swap out the dining room chairs. I bought these chairs last year at Wayfair, and love them. However, they don’t go with this current dining room table. But Wayfair to the rescue again. I found a new set of dining room chairs, and hopefully, they will be back in stock soon!

Fall Harvest Party Idea

As you think about your fall theme, keep this in mind -tasteful tablescape shouldn’t be busy, nor should you need to spend an arm and a leg to pull off a look that is gorgeous, warm, and inviting. It’s all about those fall colors, the deep copper oranges, a few beautiful rustic textures, and seasonal accents placed here and there.
