Love adventurous types of vacations? Gulf County, Florida, is the vacation destination for adventure! Read my 8 Reasons To Visit Gulf County, Florida!

We love going to Florida for vacations. However, we haven’t ventured outside of the touristy area. I remember having a conversation with my boys about exploring other vacation destinations in Florida.

While researching other things to do in Florida, we came across Gulf County, Florida.

While not full of the adventures of our other Florida destinations, this location is a whole new world of amazing that we love. If you are someone who wants to find a perfect destination for fall and winter travel, Gulf County, Florida, is ideal!

This post was brought to you by Gulf County, Florida. The content and opinions expressed below are those of This Worthey Life.

Love adventurous type of vacations? Gulf County Florida is the vacation destination for adventure! Read my 8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County FL!

8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County, Florida

Perfect warm weather, fall and winter destination.  While it still cools off in the winter months, Gulf County, Florida, is ideal for those of us from colder states.  Michigan is covered in snow during the winter months, and sometimes you just need a break.  Gulf County, Florida, is perfect for travel during these times. It is the prime season in that location. Even after the prime season is over, you will find tons of adventures still waiting to be conquered.

Coastlines for miles. Gulf County is made up of 244 miles of coastline on Florida’s panhandle. You have access to a ton of water fun, and the views and scenic photos you can capture with your family in this area are priceless.

8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County Florida

Fall and winter temperatures make outside fun much more enjoyable.  With the reasonable weather, it is time to head out for fun nature walks, water adventures and more.  You can easily go sailing, kayaking, or even just simply enjoy an afternoon fishing.

8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County Florida

Perfect for an outdoor adventure family.  We love exploring the outdoors, and the boys especially love fun things that they can learn and play with at the same time.  Things like fishing, hiking, snorkeling, diving, and anything to do in the water are going to appeal to them immediately.  Since going for a swim in the fall or winter in Michigan would be in freezing temperatures, they are thrilled to head south to Florida for a wintertime adventure that feels like summer. With so many things to do here, you will find a new adventure awaiting you 15 minutes in any direction. Plus, with this bucket list of long adventures, you will never experience the same thing twice!

8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County Florida

The boys will love it! My boys are adventurous. They are willing to try something new at least once, sometimes twice, and if they love it, again and again. The Gulf County area provides adventure and more. Not only can you enjoy all of the things I listed above, but kayaking, paddleboarding (on D’s bucket list), bird watching, and playing with baby sea turtles.

Reasons to Visit Gulf County5

Learn more about the local environment.  Gulf County, FL, boasts amazing ecological tours with experts.  You can easily take an adventure with Captain Charlene Burke and head out to learn more about the area.  Adventures change day to day but never disappoint.  Some days, she shares more about the sea life of the area and others, it may be a focus on the birds or other animals that help create a wonderful environment.  No matter what, you’ll be sure to leave the area with a newfound understanding and love for how each part of the ecosystem works together to build the beautiful vacation destination.

8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County Florida

Small town feeling.  I love, love, love small towns and their communities. Both D and I were raised in a small town. I love traveling and finding those little communities built with trust and love. We’ve vacationed in small towns before and love it when we’ve stayed long enough to get those same friendly smiles and waves each morning.

8 Adventurous Reasons To Visit Gulf County Florida

Amazing food.  You know we love a great food scene, and anything by the ocean is going to include amazing seafood.  The best part of Gulf County, Florida is not just the fresh from the ocean seafood, but the fact that they add a specific southern flare to all of their food.  You’ll find amazing barbecue dishes, southern comfort food like shrimp and grits, and much more.  It is a foodie’s dream to visit this area!

You can easily use the Gulf County Adventure Guide to help you create and build a fantastic vacation with your family.

This is a great way to plan your trip with ease. Heading to Gulf County, Florida, this fall is the perfect way to relax and unwind in a beautiful climate with tons of outdoor adventures to add to your must-do list!

This is so great for anyone who’s never been to Florida before. For the past several years, every vacation we’ve gone on in the states has been to Florida. We love it there.
