Mazda6 i- A Drive That Matters
As much as we love our SUV, we’re always in the mood to drive something with zoom and room! It’s always a joy to see what the latest models are equipped with and the benefits each different style offers. When I was given the opportunity to test out the new Mazda6 i Grand Touring, I was excited to be able to give it a whirl. It’s always so exciting to load my family up and utilize the gadgets that our testers include.
We zoomed around Lansing in a beautiful, red, sporty Mazda Grand Touring! Let me tell you, this baby is the top of the line in Mazda’s sedans. I’m channeling Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t she lovely?” as I write this post. This color just screams drive me!
One of the most important things that I like to see in a vehicle is gas mileage.Whether we’re driving around town, visiting friends in neighboring cities or taking a trip across the country, the biggest issue we’ve always come across is having the right amount of gas money to afford the trip. With the Mazd6 gas mileage was never an issue. It got us from point A to point B without having to stop every few miles to fill up again, which was a giant plus in my book. The 38 mpg on the highway is a feature you won’t find on those old clunkers.
Zayd’n is a big fan of testing out new cars with me and giving his opinion. He has some feedback to share with Mazda about their cars. We were driving home from Grand Rapids, and he started going on about how all cars should automatically have Mini T.V.’s in them. For those that know Zayd’n he is a movie/tv kid. He loves watching his shows on the road while eating, and during his relaxing time (and yes, we monitor his T.V. time). This is what he had to say,
“Hi. my name is Zayd’n Worthey from A Worthey Read. Now, I had an amazing idea for a brand new car. A car that would make the ultimate kid experience. A kid car. The same size as a real car, but a little bigger. Mini T.V’s in each row. Adjustiable seats. Three rows, each row has two seat with cup holders on each side of the chair. And chargers in the middle of the each seat. And overhead lights in each row. Plus a radio/GPS. Thanks for reading my post hope you can do this amazing idea.”
Many of Mazda vehicles comes with some of the features Zayd’n mentioned above. However, with today’s technology, having a car with more battery chargers is a must (especially in the back).
Other features that the Mazda6 i Grand Touring boasted that I loved to include but aren’t limited to:
- Roomy interior. With enough room for five passengers and their belongings, the adventures we went on were more than comfortable enough for everyone.
- Available in 8 different colors.
- 2.5 SKYACTIV G Gasoline engine that provides excellent efficiency and helps achieve the best mpg available.
- Rated 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick. With all the nifty safety features the Mazda6 has to offer, it quickly earned a spot on my top favorite vehicles list. Safety has never been more important to me, especially when it comes to driving around with loved ones.
- Brilliant LED Headlights and Fog Lights.
- Bluetooth Capabilities.
- Mazda Connect Infotainment Radio System.
While the 2016 Mazda6 is roomy, I only recommend this car for families with 1-2 children or 3 small children. It will also work as a second car for your family.
Another thing I like about Mazda overall is their value on giving back. Not only do they make “road-worthey” cars, but they believe in giving back to their respective communities. Each time we get to drive a Mazda, we also get to give back. The Mazda Drive for Good program has given nearly $8 million since its inception in 2013! Talk about a drive that matters!
Not only does Mazda donate thousands of dollars to local charities, but their employees also donate their time, locking in over 120,000 in the past few years!
