We’re sharing one of our favorite back-to-school lunch ideas with a unique sandwich twist. Our Grilled PB & J Banana Sandwich with berries twist the classic PB& J Sandwich using Welch’s® products. Find the recipe below.

It’s almost that time again! What am I am talking about it you say? Back to school! And back to school season means parents getting organized and getting their kids and themselves prepared for returning to the classroom. So we’ve partnered with Welch’s to show you how you can introduce a bit of yummy variety into school lunches because Welch’s crushes the best out of fruit so you can crush every Back to School moment.

Our youngest son is looking forward to returning to in-person classes for his sophomore year with virtual school last year.

No matter how well we plan it out, back-to-school time is busy. But our advice is to plan anyway. So, go ahead and write out those school supplies lists. Then, gather up the kids, do the back-to-school clothes shopping, and make sure you have whatever you need to make all the school lunches.

Grilled PB & J Banana Sandwich

Most of our kids prefer packing a lunch filled with fresh fruit and their favorite snacks. And, of course, they still love their PB& J sandwiches.

What You Will Need To Make Our Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich:

Welch’s Natural Concord Grape or Strawberry Spread. We are all our parents’ children, and that means we mostly inherit our tastes, especially when it comes to the food we eat and the products. Welch’s is the only brand of jams and jellies my mom used, and I am doing the same. But it’s not just that my mom purchased Welch’s; I continue the Welch’s tradition because Welch’s Naturals are sourced from real fruit, non-GMO, no high fructose corn syrup, it’s just good!

Peanut Butter. You can’t make a respectable PB&J without peanut butter, but if peanut isn’t your jam them of course, your favorite nut butter will most certainly do. I keep almond and pistachio butter on deck for when I feel like switching it up!

Bananas & Blueberries. I love adding sliced banana and ripe, juicy berries to a PB&J because it’s an easy way to level up your PB&J game. I also love adding blackberries or even sliced strawberries. I haven’t tried raspberries or mulberries, but they’re on my list!

Unsalted Butter or Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Just a half-tablespoon of each on each side of the bread will do.

Sliced Bread. Grab your favorite sliced bread. White. Wheat or whatever! I love using multigrain and multiseed bread but do you boo!
