4 Ways Teens Want To Celebrate Halloween
Halloween is here! My boys are getting older, and over the years, our Halloween routines have changed. Long gone are the days of finding cute costumes and taking the boys out to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood. Now as teens and a tween, we still want to celebrate the holiday, but in a way that’s acceptable for “older” kids.
If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Halloween with tweens and teens, you may find some of these tips useful.
Halloween movies. My boys are into watching movies like Friday, the 13th. And they still enjoy movies like Tim Burton’s, The Nightmare Before Christmas; It‘s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Beetlejuice, and the silly Scary Movie series. Find movies your teens and tweens will love, and that is appropriate, and you will find an easy way to still celebrate the holiday.
Snacks + Food. I don’t know about your teens, but our teens love good food. When we’re watching our Halloween movies, snacks, popcorn, and appetizers are always on hand. One snack the boys love is the Mini Babybel® products. They come in a variety of cheeses, and it’s a great snack for the whole family to enjoy.
Halloween parties. Another way to get older kids involved in Halloween is to have a party. It can even be a costume-themed party, appropriate, and supervised by adults. Or, you can have a family Halloween party. Mini Babybel® products are also a fun snack to serve at the party!
Trick-or-treating. Believe or not, teens and tweens are still into trick or treating. However, you won’t find them dressing up in a cute costume. Our boys plan on going out to collect candy, but want to do it with their friends. I plan to talk to them about Halloween safety tips. And while I’m sure they want their space to hang out with their friends, it’s still important an adult is within side-eye distance.
As you’re prepping for Halloween, be sure to stop by Target to grab a bag of Mini Babybel® products. I like that they also come in seasonal packaging, so look for the Halloween variety. They are made with 100% real cheese (very important), and even an excellent source of calcium and protein for our growing boys! We also like to pack these in their lunches.
Mini Babyels are also fun to open!
Mini Babybels are also the perfect snack for after-school, kid cheese plates, and just to eat by itself, morning, noon or night.
For a kid’s cheese plate, you can use a variety of items:
- Sliced fruit, such as apples
- Sliced veggies, like carrots
- A variety of crackers
- Mini Babyel products
- You could also add pepperoni and sliced ham
