Oatmeal Buttermilk Waffles with Crushed Oreos & Marcona Almonds

Ingredients

  • Waffle Ingredients:
  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 1/4 cup organic quick oats
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • Oreo & Marcona Almond Mix
  • 6 Oreo Cookies
  • 1/2 cup Marcona Almonds
  • 1/2 stick of unsalted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat Waffle Iron
  • Place Oreos and Marcona almonds into a food processor and pulse until the ingredients are roughly chopped.
  • In a medium size bowl add pancake mix, organic quick oats, chocolate chips, and buttermilk.
  • Regarding the buttermilk- add the milk until the ingredients hold together, you don't want the pancake mix to be too soupy. Also, when the ingredients are mixed allow the pancake mix to stand for 10 minutes.
  • Place the butter in a measuring cup or a microwave safe bowl and heat the butter until it melts.
  • Using a brush apply butter to the preheated waffle iron.
  • Scoop 3 tablespoons of pancake batter into the center of each waffle iron section.
  • Scatter 2 tablespoons of oreo and Marcona mixture onto the top of each waffle section.
  • Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown.
  • Remove waffles from the waffle iron and brush with more melted butter.
  • Serve with a side of Johnsonville's Fully Cooked Breakfast sausages!
