How To Make Homemade Syrup

  • A surefire way to cut on certain items is to make them yourself.
  • I have one recipe for an item that just about everyone uses. Pancake syrup. Yup, and it's straightforward to make. Think 2-2-2-. That’s it.
  • 2 cups Of Water
  • 2 cups of Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups of White Sugar
  • 1/2 -1 teaspoon of vanilla or maple extract

Directions on making homemade syrup:

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, stir in 2 cups of Brown Sugar until it dissolves, then repeat the process with 2 cups of White Sugar.
  • You can also add 1/2 -1 Teaspoon of vanilla or maple extract (or flavoring). But the funny thing is you can mix it up from batch to batch. You can add cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, or a touch of ground cloves.
  • One of my favorites is Hazelnut flavoring. You can add just about anything else yummy that you like.

Notes

For the adventurous types, you can even add a bit of coffee or Rum. You decide. Add 1/2 – 1 cup of Karo Corn Syrup for a thicker syrup, depending on desired thickness.
