The Ultimate Summer Bucket List For Dads {+ printable}

Summer bucket lists are all the rave right now. Whether it’s a family summer bucket list or things for kids to do over the summer, these lists are happening. But what about us dads? Are you making a list of things you want to accomplish over the summer? I surely hope so. This is the first year I’m making my own dad summer bucket list, and I’m going to share tips with you on how to make the ultimate dad summer bucket list, plus share my list with you!

The Ultimate Summer Bucket List For Dads

What is, can only be if you bring forth your dreams into reality

Putting together a good summer bucket list is a curious thing. On the surface, it may seem like an easy list to nail down. But not so fast. A bucket list, your bucket list, should be a well-thought-out list of the activities you want to do. Draw on your likes, hopes, and dreams. Don’t worry about someone else’s bucket list because this isn’t a test. So, no sneaking a quick peek at the other guy’s list of the right answers. Trying to graft some other guy’s bucket list into “yours” will only serve to cheat you out your own authentic experiences. Now, ask yourself this, “What is the stuff I want to do?”

Big goals and smalls goals are all the same size

No matter what your bucket list goals are, there isn’t a big goal or small goal. If checking off a specific goal on your bucket list makes you feel accomplished and fulfilled, then that is all that counts. So, if your goal is to eat at the best barbecue joints in the country, then that is just as important as someone else’s goal of playing chess in St. Petersburg Square, Russia. Add the things to your bucket list that will make you happy.

When drafting your bucket list, consult your inner child

A bucket list shouldn’t be all serious and highbrow. Maybe making it more about fun and games is a pretty good approach to take. Throwing in a mix of childish adventure, which requires a bit of moxie and adult financing, will more than likely keeps things interesting. And the payoff? Well, your inner child will thank you.

The plan is, there is no plan

Just because you finally took the time to draft a bucket list doesn’t mean it is carved in granite. Feel free and give yourself permission to prioritize, add, and delete from your bucket list as time goes marching by. And by all means, keep your summer bucket list simple. You want to have time to do everything on your summer bucket list. If you’re ambitious and think you can handle 100 things to do this summer, then go for it. I like to keep my bucket list ideas simple and attainable. Yes, there are some “big or go home ideas on my list,” but I plan to conquer each one over the summer.

Things Dads want to do this summer

Fuel me up, Scotty

To stay fueled up with all of these planned summer activities, I’m turning to Lorissa’s Kitchen prep-free protein snacks for help! I’ve been paying a lot of attention to what I’m putting in my body. It’s important for me to stay fueled with the right protein products. Lorissa’s Kitchen products were founded on finding the right tasting food using ingredients you can find in the kitchen, as well as being 100% grass-fed beef, and responsibly raised pork. These premium protein snacks work great for me. For my line of work, I have to stay active. I also enjoy running, hiking, and planning to go skydiving and camping this summer with my boys. The right protein snack must be in my bag to help me accomplish such adventures. Dads, be sure to check out Lorissa’s Kitchen products. Out of the two, I liked the Korean Barbeque Beef the best. Even the boys enjoyed this protein snack!

    I LOVE this idea. While we made a kids bucket list, we didn’t think to have Dad make his! My husband is really bad at establishing his own interests & hobbies, so I think this might really challenge him to articulate what HE wants to do #client

    I am loving this bucket list and I’m pretty sure my husband would enjoy it as well, along with Lorissa’s Kitchen. Your list is the perfect mixture for him and for the family.
