DIY Mugs With Your Favorite Spider-Man: No Way Home Quote
Let’s talk about Spider-Man. Wait. There’s a bit of backstory to this story! I remember myself as a 15-year-old boy who lived for comic books. Every month I used to ride my moped downtown to the local bookstore. I would walk in and head directly to the comic book section.
After I entered, I would turn right; the rear corner area was where all the comics were neatly arranged by titles. I would grab my favorite comics, browse through all the titles to make sure I didn’t miss anything new, then head back to the front to pay.

There is a connection between the Spider-Man comics and cartoons I watched as a kid and Spider-Man: No Way Home. This movie made me nostalgic and excited for what’s to come in the Spider-Man movie franchise.

What took Spider-Man: No Way Home over the top was how they brought in the other Peter Parkers from alternate universes, namely Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
As well as the convergence of Spider-Man’s best-known villains with the likes of Sandman, The Green Goblin, and Dr. Octopus.
Tom Holland, the latest actor to play Spider-Man, is more in-line with the Peter Parker I imagined as a kid. Skinny. Immature. Awkward. Geeky and funny in a weirdly uncomfortable and completely acceptable way.
I also love the actor, Zendaya as MJ. One of the things I love about movies is nothing is set in stone, and I love the new trend where people of color are cast to play iconic and beloved characters because at the end of the day representation does matter.
When does Spider-Man: No Way Home come out on Blu-ray™?
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently available on Blu-ray™ and Digital. This would be a great Easter gift basket idea or family movie night idea.
After watching it on opening weekend in the theaters, we were excited to watch it again for a family movie night. Our boys are all big Spider-Man fans, especially Zayd’n.
A highlight for us was the three Peter Parkers together. I grew up watching Andrew and Tobey.
Our boys’ first introduction to Spider-Man was Tom Holland playing this character. It was a nice moment for us to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home together, seeing our favorite Peter Parker characters come together on screen.
There are quite a few notable moments and quotes throughout this movie, and we took some of our favorite lines and created personalized mugs based on our favorite moments.

How to create a Spider-Man Quote Mug with your favorite quote
Tatanisha will take it from here and show you how to create Spider-Man inspired mugs with your favorite quotes in this step-by-step tutorial using a cutting machine.
Supplies:
- mugs
- Smart Vinyl Permanent
- Transfer Tape
- Weeder
- Scraper
- Cricut machine (I used the Cricut Maker- but any machine will work)
If you want to use our designs, here are a few ways you can use them:
Directions on making Spider-Man Quote Mugs
First, watch Spider-Man: No Way Home; find your favorite quote or use one of ours shared above.
Open up Cricut Design Space.
Click on the text box and type your favorite quote from Spider-Man: No Way Home.
I’m using three different fonts for our mugs (Good Times, Bfc Clementine, and Bfc Love Quinn.) This size was the perfect fit for the black mug.
Click on the button to make it in the right-hand corner. Note: If you have more than one machine, be sure to select the right one.
Once you click on the Make It button, it will give you a few options. You can print your design on a mat, without a mat, or multiple ways.
Next, you’ll be asked to double-check your design.
Follow the directions on the screen in Cricut Design Space on printing.
Once you’ve cut out the words on the Smart Vinyl, it’s time to get the transfer tape.
Cut a piece of Transfer Tape. Try to match it with the same size as the vinyl so you don’t waste any tape.
Peel off the front of the Smart Vinyl. Use the Weeder tool and carefully weed the quote.
After this step, take a piece of transfer tape and peel off the back of the tape. Take the front of the tape (the sticky part) and place it across the word. *tip- I cut the pieces of vinyl and tape down and took off the excess paper. This helped make it easier to work the transfer tape and vinyl.
Press the vinyl onto the coffee mug, starting in the center, and move outward.
Peel the transfer tape away from the vinyl at a 45-degree angle.
Line up the word on the mug and use a scraper (or credit card) to ensure the vinyl is stuck on.
Remove the transfer tape. Repeat this process to make more mugs with your favorite Spider-Man: No Way Home quote.

How to make a coffee mug without a Cricut machine
If you don’t have a Cricut, you can use other brands of cutting machines to create your mugs. You also can go the DIY route with an oil-based Sharpie.
Several tutorials on Pinterest show you how to use permanent markers or glass paint markers to create mugs.
Here are a few simple steps:
- Wash and dry your mug.
- Use a pencil to draw out a rough design of the quotes on to your mug.
- Then using your paint marker or permanent marker, draw your design on your mug.
- Bake your mug at 350 degrees for 20 minutes to allow the paint to set. Then let your mug cool.
What type of mug to use for vinyl?
When using permanent vinyl, you want to make sure you use the correct type of mug.
We’re using 12 oz durable porcelain, LEAD-FREE and NON-TOXIC, chip-resistant, and sturdy mugs that are safe for dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer. They are ideal for DIY projects and work for the Cricut machine and oil-based markers.
How well does the mug hold up after applying the vinyl?
After putting the vinyl on the mug, I put the mug in the oven on 350 for about 25-30 minutes. Pro-tip: use the outdoor vinyl as well- since it holds up longer.
A couple of my favorite lines were “trying to do better” and “glass half-full kind of gal.”
