Easy Cream Cheese Caramel Dip

October is National Apple Month, and to be honest, I start thinking about apples in late August, early September.

And while so many people want to rush to all things pumpkin, let’s remember that apple reigns supreme during August, September, and even October.

There’s nothing better than Michigan Apples, and we love looking for the apples produced by North Bay Produce.

As part of their co-op, North Bay Produce has more than 30 growers producing fresh fruit and vegetables year-round.

It’s National Apple Month, and we’re sharing a quick dip recipe you can enjoy with your favorite apples.

This easy caramel dip is made with cream cheese and caramel sauce, and it is super easy to make!

Plus, it’s perfect for fall harvest gatherings, Halloween party appetizers, and more. See how we put it together below.

What You Will Need:

North Bay Produce Apples. Crisp, juicy, and perfect for dipping. Apples bring freshness and natural sweetness that balance the richness of the dip. A mix of tart and sweet varieties makes every bite pop.

Cream Cheese. The creamy, tangy base that gives the dip its smooth texture. Softening the cream cheese first makes it easy to blend without lumps.

Caramel Sauce. The indulgent star of the show. Sweet, buttery caramel pairs perfectly with cream cheese for a decadent, crowd-pleasing dip.

Chopped Pecans. Adds crunch and a nutty depth of flavor. Pecans cut through the creaminess and sweetness, giving every scoop a little texture.

Ground Cinnamon. A warm spice that enhances the caramel and complements the apples. Just enough to give cozy fall flavor without overpowering.

Fresh Lemon Juice. Keeps the apple slices from browning and adds a hint of brightness. It’s the small but mighty ingredient that keeps the whole platter fresh.

Directions:

Into a stand mixer, add the 16 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 1/2 cups of caramel sauce, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Adjust the speed to medium, and continue to mix until the ingredients are well-combined and smooth.

Slice the apples and place them into a large reusable bag. Add the fresh lemon juice, seal the bag, and give it a gentle shake to coat the apples. This will help keep the apple slices fresh and prevent browning.

Then take them out of he bag and arrange the apple slices around the edge of a serving platter or plate.

Spoon the Cream Cheese Caramel Dip into a small bowl and top with chopped pecans.

Serve immediately with the apple sliced for dipping.

If pecans aren’t your jam, try one of these delicious toppings:

  • mini chocolate chips
  • chopped praline pecans
  • toffee bits
  • Oreo cookie crumbles
  • maple syrup
  • sprinkles

Place the Cream Cheese Caramel Dip into the center of the serving platter.
Enjoy!

Can I Make This Caramel Dip Ahead of Time?

Yes, you can. You can prepare this dip up to 2 days in advance. Store it in an airtight container and place it in the fridge.

Just wait to add the pecans until you’re ready to serve to stay crunchy.

How Do I Keep The Apples From Turning Brown?

Tossing the apple slices in fresh lemon juice is the easiest trick.

If you prefer less tartness, you can use pineapple juice or a splash of orange juice.

What Other Fruits Works With This Dip?

You can pair this creamy caramel flavor dip with pears, strawberries, grapes, or slices of banana.

Can I Use Store-Bought Caramel?

Yes, store-bought caramel will work just fine (we used it for this recipe).

However, a homemade caramel sauce will provide a richer flavor.

What Else Can I Use Besides Fruit?

You can use graham crackers, vanilla wafers, shortbread cookies, or pretzels.
