Tips for Trick or Treating Safely
Since a night of going door-to-door and asking for candy is what Halloween is all about, take the time to remind the kids of a few safety tips.
Remind them to stay off the road, stay in well-lit areas, and never go alone.
We also talk about the safety of going to strangers’ doors and how we don’t eat anything until we get home and can look at everyone in the bag.
When our kids were little, they had to wait until we got home to eat candy.
The boys would dump their candy on the floor, and I would go through them to ensure there were no razors or anything suspicious.
Besides those rules, let the kids have fun collecting candy in the Halloween bags you’ll print out for them.
