Raspberry Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon raspberry simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1 - 1/2 ounces gold or Blanco tequila
  • 1 ounce Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
  • ice
  • splash of sparkling wine or Sangria

Instructions

  • Rim a glass with raspberry simple syrup, and dredge the rim of the glass with raw sugar.
  • Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker, add raspberry simple syrup, lime juice, tequila, and Chambord raspberry liqueur.
  • Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 30-seconds.
  • Fill the prepared glass with crushed ice, strain the cocktail into the rocks glass, and top off with sparkling wine. Serve.

Notes

How to make raspberry simple syrup 

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • 1 cup fresh, ripe raspberries

Directions:

  1. Place a saucepan over med/high heat and combine all of the ingredients, use a potato masher to smash the raspberries to release the juice.
  2. Allow the mixture to come to a boil, and cook for 2 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat source and place a tight-fitting lid on top of the saucepan.
  3. Allow the raspberry simple syrup to steep for 15-minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a Mason jar-styled container.
  5. Store in the fridge, the raspberry simple syrup with keep up to 30 days.
  6. Use in some of your favorite cocktails or conjure handmade cocktails creations of your own.
