Honey Barbecue Wings Recipe Baked In The Oven Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 stick melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt or Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black peppercorns

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Prep the chicken wings by rinsing and patting them dry, using a large butcher knife divide the chicken wing at the joint, also remove the tip of the chicken, and discard. 
  • Into a small saucepan melt butter over med-low heat; when the butter is melted, add the extra virgin olive oil. 
  • Arrange the chicken wings on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil, brush the chicken wings with the melted butter and olive oil mixture and sprinkle liberally with sea salt and freshly cracked black peppercorns, turn the wings over and repeat. 
  • Place the wings on the center rack of  400 degrees preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • While the wings are baking, combine a cup of your favorite barbecue sauce with a half-cup of honey, mix well, and set aside.
  • Remove the wings from the oven and brush them with honey barbecue sauce.
  • Serve.
