When’s the last time that you played charades?

If you’re anything like our family, we hadn’t done it in a long time. But I’m so glad that we broke the mold this year.

We spent hours laughing, guessing, scratching our heads, and wondering how we thought Santa coming down the chimney was a weightlifter doing squats.

I mean, c’mon…sometimes charades can be downright wacky! 

How To Play Charades

The best part about charades is that it’s fun for all ages. 

To get started, you’ll need to form teams of at least two people each time. (One person will act, and one will guess.) You can, of course, have more, but this is going to be the bare minimum that you’ll need.

Then, the person who will act out the clues draws a card and starts to act out what is on it. The goal is to have your team members answer quickly to get the points! 

If they guess it, they get a point. If they don’t, it goes to the other team to have the option to steal. It’s as simple as that! 

Make a plan before you get started for how long you’ll play. This way, you’ll have a starting point and an ending point of reference.

As you can see below, here are the charade cards you will be printing out to use to play! 

Some examples of what you’ll be acting out include:

• Caroling
• Snowball fight
• Sleigh ride
• Making a snow angel
• Mistletoe
• Shoveling snow
• Letter to Santa

And the list goes on and on. Don’t forget to make up some more and add them to the mix!
