Easy Strawberry Salsa With Tomatoes
We’re counting down the days until we have warmer weather and can host our friends at The W. One of the quick appetizers on our spring and summer menu will be this delicious and flavorful Strawberry Salsa.
It starts with using strawberries, which, of course, if you’ve been following us for a good while, you know our first choice will always be North Bay Produce.
While there are several strawberry salsa recipes on the internet, we make ours with a few extra ingredients.
If you’re going to have salsa, you gotta have cherry tomatoes. We also added balsamic vinegar ( side note: I love how Elmo says balsamic vinegar).
Balsamic vinegar brings out the berry flavor and adds a bit of sophistication to this strawberry salsa recipe (this is the key).
This Strawberry Salsa is the perfect appetizer for spring and summer gatherings. It is fresh, colorful, and ideal for brunches, cookouts, or casual entertaining.
Made with juicy, ripe North Bay Produce strawberries grown with care, it delivers a vibrant burst of flavor in every bite.
While peak strawberry season typically runs from late spring through early summer, North Bay Produce strawberries are available year-round, thanks to their growing supply of growers.
What You Will Need:
Strawberries. Fresh, organic strawberries is the star of this salsa dish. Their natural sweetness adds a juicy, fruity twist that sets this salsa apart from traditional versions. When ripe, they perfectly contrast savory, spicy, and tangy elements.
Red Onion. Red Bell Pepper. Jalapeno pepper. Together, these peppers create a balanced blend of sweet and spicy. The red bell pepper adds a mild crunch and vibrant color, while the jalapeño brings just enough heat to keep things lively without overwhelming the strawberries.
Cherry Tomatoes add acidity and moisture while complementing the strawberries with their natural sweetness. They also bulk up the salsa and bring a fresh, juicy texture.
Fresh Cilantro. Limes. Cilantro brings a bright, herbaceous note that ties all the flavors together, while lime juice adds essential acidity that lifts the sweetness of the fruit and sharpens every bite. Together, they give the salsa its signature freshness and vibrant flavor.
Taco Seasoning, Balsamic Vinegar, and Kosher Salt build depth and balance in the salsa. Taco seasoning adds a warm, savory spice that complements the sweetness of the strawberries, while balsamic vinegar brings richness and a subtle tang that enhances the overall flavor. Kosher salt ties it together, amplifying each ingredient and creating a well-rounded, crave-worthy bite.

Can I Make This Strawberry Salsa With Tomatoes Ahead of Time?
Yes, you can make this strawberry salsa ahead of time. We recommend making it a few hours before serving and placing it in the fridge.
However, we don’t recommend making it a day or two ahead of time because the strawberries will start to soften, releasing too much juice and changing the flavor of this recipe.
Storing Leftovers
If you happen to have leftover strawberry salsa, you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
Stir the salsa before serving.
Can I Use Frozen Strawberries Instead?
We recommend using fresh strawberries since frozen strawberries will need more time to thaw and drain off the excess liquid.
However, if you need to use frozen strawberries, let them thaw completely and drain off the excess liquid before adding them to the salsa.
What Can I Serve It With Besides Chips?
It’s delicious over grilled chicken, fish, shrimp tacos, or spooned onto a summer salad or grain bowl.
It also pairs well with creamy cheeses like goat cheese or feta.
Now that you have this recipe, gather your ingredients and add our strawberry salsa with tomatoes recipe to your menu this summer.
