Weekend Lunch & Campbell’s® Organic Kids
Organic this! Organic that! Some people claim “going organic” is just a fad, is it? I like to think eating organic is just a return to how we used to eat. Back when eating organic wasn’t a way of eating it was just eating what naturally grew. But somewhere along the way putting unnatural and harmful stuff into the food chain became common. Canned goods and prepackaged foods aren’t necessarily bad but the unwholesome methods and poor quality of the ingredients used to produce them became the norm. @Campbell’s® Organic Kids is helping change that.
Several years ago we decided to make a few changes, nothing drastic just a gradual adjustment to the foods we eat. Like a lot of parents we’re reading and paying attention to labels and questioning food sources. As parents, we wanted something different for our family in terms of including more fresh and organic fruits, vegetables and cuts of meat. And when it comes to processed foods we are seeking out more frequently foods bearing the USDA Organic label Why? For us, it just boils down to valuing quality foods and overall health. We now have a family garden, and for the past five years we have enjoyed having access to a variety of fresh and seasonal organic veggies. Our garden patch is cultivated from seed and grows without pesticides, herbicides and other products we do not want in our food. We love it, and our boys love going outside and grabbing a tomato, cucumber or gathering up the ingredients to make a fresh salad. Garden to table, yup that’s for us.
Last weekend we tried @Campbell’s® Organic Kids soup, and it was a delicious addition to family lunchtime. And with the dropping temperatures nothing beats a steaming bowl of hot soup. Campbell’s® Organic Kids is certified USDA Organic, and that makes us as parents feel good about the food we’re providing for our kids. We served the Campbell’s® Organic Kids with Raisin Cinnamon Walnut Grilled Cheese with Sliced Apples, a fresh Garden Salad and sliced bananas. And so far, so good. The boys enjoy, our youngest (pictured below) likes his salad sans dressing and he loved the soup. A win/win all the way around. We’re planning on trying out all of the new Campbell’s® Organic Kids soups, there are several varieties to choose from.
The boys loved the unique shapes and even tried to see how many of the funky-shaped noodles they could get onto their spoons and into their mouths all at once. Kids, right?
