Ingredients Needed For BBQ Cauliflower Wings

Flour and Cornstarch. These two ingredients are going to be the base of the batter for these wings. If you are gluten-free, reach for a gluten-free flour blend.

Spices. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder will be mixed in with the flour to help flavor the breading.

Cauliflower. Use fresh cauliflower that is washed and prepped and then cut into florets. Aim for the same size, for even baking.

Milk.  The milk helps give the flour and spices a batter-like texture so you can dip and create a thick batter on the outside of the cauliflower.

Sauce.  BBQ sauce, Sriracha, and honey are the three ingredients you need for making the sweet and spicy sauce for dredging your wings.

Expert Tips For Making Cauliflower Barbeque Wings

  • Evenly cut the cauliflower. That way, you get even cooking on the cauliflower. Think bite-size wings when you cut the cauliflower into pieces.
  • If you do not want the sauce to be too spicy, use less Sriracha in the mixture.
  • Make sure to cook the sauce, as it will thicken it, allowing the sauce to stick to the cauliflower.
  • Once you dip the cauliflower in the sauce, bake again to help to create a sticky texture.

How to Store Leftover Cauliflower Barbeque Wings

These BBQ wings are best when stored fresh from the oven. You can save any wings you don’t eat right away in the fridge in an airtight container. The cauliflower wings will keep for 3-5 days.

For reheating, do the microwave, or cover in aluminum foil and heat up in the oven. If you don’t cover you will burn the sauce mixture.

Alternative to honey in the recipe

If you do not want to use honey, you can reach for agave or even maple syrup. Both will help to sweeten up the sauce without ruining the texture of the sauce.
