Mix our Blue Whiskey Cocktail—whiskey, blue curaçao, Hpnotiq, and a splash of lemon-lime soda—for a vibrant, dangerously smooth blue sip.
Your Friday night can be the perfect type of Blue with this easy cocktail mixed with Whiskey, Blue Whiskey.
It’s a hard drink that is blue and has a fantastic taste!
Blue Whiskey Cocktail
I like whiskey. Really, I do. But, at times, I like my whiskey dressed up in something other than on the rocks or straight up.
And I have discovered through a little bit of experimentation (and trial & error), whiskey makes an excellent ingredient in mixed cocktails.
Recently, I created the Blue Whiskey, inspired by the color blue and the number 3 (yes, I am channeling a bit of Sesame Street here). But rest assured, this cocktail has lots of adult flavors that will knock your socks off and leave you wanting another.
So, let’s play bartender and mix up something righteous and a lovely shade of delicious blue!
What is the best drink to mix with whiskey?
This blend of Hypnotiq, fresh blueberries, and Blue Curacao is one of my favorites for mixing with whiskey, and of course, a Sprite for a hint of bubbles.
A refreshing and boozy-filled drink.
You might even serve this up for Shark Week, along with a Swedish fish on top!
Ingredients you need to make a Blue Whiskey Cocktail
Serving size: 1
- 1-ounce whiskey (Jameson works)
- 2 ounces blue curaçao
- 2-ounces Hpnotiq liqueur
- 1-2 ounces of lemon-lime soda
- blueberries for garnish
- superfine sugar (optional)
- ice (use cracked pieces of ice)
Directions:
- In a cocktail shaker, add whiskey, blue curaçao, Hpnotiq liqueur, and cracked ice.
- Shake for 30 seconds.
- Pour into a standard whiskey glass filled with ice and top with lemon-lime soda.
- Garnish with blueberries sprinkled with superfine sugar (optional).
Is Blue Curacao syrup alcoholic?
The Blue Curacao syrup is a non-alcoholic gourmet syrup to flavor your drinks and cocktails.
This blue color transforms drinks, and the citrus twist is always pleasing to the palate. Trust me, this is great to keep on hand.
What can I use instead of blue Curacao?
Grand Marnier offers the citrus twist you might be looking for as an alternative to Curacao! It is a refreshing flavor mix-in that you might enjoy just as much. If you have something else in mind, feel free to check out other options as well.
Can I Make This Into A Slush-Style Mixed Drink
Absolutely! Reach for your blender, toss in the ice and ingredients, and blend to perfection.
I recommend leaving the blueberries out and then gently smashing them and stirring them into the slushie-style cocktail.
Can You Make This Cocktail Non-Alcoholic
If you want to make a non-alcoholic version, just leave out the alcohol and use Sprite or another lemon-lime style soda.
Add a splash of orange juice and even garnish with an orange wedge for color!

I made this tonight and am drinking it as I type this.
I don’t know why you felt you needed to include “whiskey” in the name — you can’t taste the whiskey.
This IS a tasty drink, a little a on the sweet side, with a suprisingly sublte flavor. I’m not even a 1/3 of the way through and I can tell it’s deceptively strong. And I’m having a hard time not chugging it down like water. (Maybe you should have called it “Blue Water” or even “Blue FireWater”. lol!)
