What You Will Need:
Oreos. For this recipe, I used a classic Oreo. Now you can honestly use any flavor of Oreo you want. Even a mint Oreo or holiday Oreo would be delicious.
Green Candy Melts. You can buy these in the cake decorating or baking aisle at the grocery store. I purchased the vibrant ones as they gave the closest bright color to match the Grinch.
Cream Cheese. The cream cheese will add tons of flavor to your balls and serve as the binder, ensuring the balls roll up properly and stick.
Coconut Oil. You will mix the oil into the chocolate to help thin it and set it up.
Candy Heart Sprinkle. You will find candy hearts in the baking aisle. They will have them around Christmas, and they work perfectly, topping the Oreo cream cheese balls.

Ingredients:

- 12 oz Vibrant Green Candy Melts
- 8 oz of Cream Cheese at room temperature
- 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
- Large Red Heart Sprinkles

Items Needed to make Oreo balls:
- Cookie Sheet or baking sheet
- Parchment Paper or wax paper
- Long Toothpicks
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Small Microwave-Safe Bowl
- Frosting Bag
- Scissors
- Rubber Spatula
- Small Cup or Jar
- Food Processor
Directions on how to make Oreo balls:
- Line a standard cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the Oreos in the food processor and pulse until they’re finely chopped, with no large chunks.
- Place the Oreos and cream cheese in a large bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.
- Roll them into 1-inch balls and place them on the cookie sheet.
- Place the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and cook on high for about 3 minutes, or until smooth and creamy, stirring after each minute. Pause every 30 seconds during cooking to stir or adjust the candy melts so they don’t burn.
- Add the coconut oil to the melted chocolate and stir until well combined. If it still seems a little thick, add more coconut oil.
- Place the chocolate in a small jar or cup, then use the toothpicks to dip each ball in the chocolate, completely coating them. Place the coated balls on a plate and refrigerate until set. Tap them gently on the edge of the cup to remove excess chocolate and place them back on the cookie sheet.
- Chill for about 10 minutes or until hardened.
- Place the remaining chocolate in a frosting bag and use scissors to cut a small tip off the end of the bag.
- Once the balls have hardened, drizzle them with the chocolate and immediately place a red heart sprinkle on the top middle of each ball.
- Chill for about 5 minutes or until hardened.
Enjoy!

How Big To Make Oreo Balls
You are welcome to make your balls any size you want.
A cookie scoop is a great way to ensure the balls are uniform in size and give them a nice, clean look.
You are welcome to use any size, but around a tablespoon of Oreo mixture works well.

Storing Oreo Grinch Balls
With the ingredient cream cheese in this recipe, these Grinch bites need to be stored in the refrigerator, or they will spoil.
Never leave them out for more than 2 hours at a time.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Also, if you want, feel free to freeze some of them if you don’t want to eat them all at once.
Place in a freezer bag or freezer-friendly container and freeze for 3-4 months.

Pro Tips And Troubleshooting
- When heating your chocolate, add more oil if it is still too thick after adding the coconut oil. This will help ensure it isn’t a thick mess when you go to dip your balls.
- You can buy tools for dipping desserts in chocolate, use a spoon or fork, or a long toothpick.
- The key is to shake off excess chocolate before placing it on a prepared surface for the best results.
- The candy melts will set up fast, so add the candy hearts as you go and wait until the end.
