Winter Snowflake Cupcakes + FREE Snowflake Stencil Template

Have some Frozen fun with these Winter Snowflake Cupcakes. They are super easy to make. Plus you can use this free snowflake stencil template.

Winter Snowflake Cupcakes + FREE Snowflake Stencil Template

This fun winter-y Snowflake Cupcake is the perfect goody for any winter party or even a Frozen-themed event.  Sweet treats that are ready to celebrate winter with some oomph.  We have even included a FREE Snowflake stencil template to help you create chocolate snowflakes without fear. So, Let it Go!  Let’s get to putting together these cool winter confections for parties, or even fun after school or after snow snack.

Snowflake Template

Ingredients:

  • 1 box white cake mix (plus required ingredients listed on the box, i.e. eggs, oil & water)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 6 oz. of white chocolate chips
  • Blue Food Coloring

Optional: White Sugar Sprinkles

Directions:

Prepare cake batter according to box directions and bake in cupcake pan using liners.

While cupcakes cool, make the frosting. Start by using an electric mixer to beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar until fully incorporated. Beat in vanilla extract. Pour in milk and beat for an additional 3 minutes.

Mix blue food coloring into frosting until desired shade of blue is achieved and set aside.

Place snowflake template under parchment paper and tape to flat surface

Melt white chocolate and place into the piping bag using a small round frosting tip

Fill in each snowflake stencil with melted white chocolate

Place snowflakes on parchment paper in the refrigerator until hardened

Frost cupcakes using blue frosting

Remove white chocolate snowflakes from the refrigerator and place one snowflake garnish on each cupcake

Optional: Sprinkle white sugar sprinkles onto cupcakes

Yields: 24 Cupcakes

Time: 50 Minutes
