Summer is here, and it’s a time to enjoy good food, fun, and a cocktail or two. I’ve created two summer cocktail ideas using Jameson and Malibu. Grab the recipes below, and let’s celebrate all summer long!
Two Summer Cocktail Ideas Using Jameson + Malibu
The dog days of summer are in full swing! And with summer comes fun-filled vacays, adventurous weekend getaways, lip-smacking backyard barbecues, and much-needed quality time with the people we love. I say, bring it on! One of the things I pride myself on is the ability to create delicious, visually appealing, and refreshing cocktails to accompany our fun in the sun.
If summer and sunshine had a lovechild, they would name it Malibu Jameson or maybe Jameson Malibu. These two brands know how to make the summer shine with loads of flavor and limitless cocktail potential. I can’t think of a more toothsome twosome; this is how you represent summer!
Why Jameson?
There are many reasons to pull my bottle of Jameson out when guests arrive. This triple distilled blended Irish whiskey is a staple in my home bar because of its distinctive taste and cocktail-making versatility. Plus, Jameson’s iconic green bottle looks good on my shelf. So, whether this classic whiskey is served neat or mixed, it is bound to be a crowd-pleaser. My neighbors know whose house has the good stuff. So when there’s grill smoke drifting from our backyard, chances are there will be good food aplenty and ice-cold refreshments served, like my Tart Cherry Ginger Ale cocktail. This is an easy cocktail to make, and the tart cherry juice and cherry bitters play well off the ginger ale and Jameson.
Recipes for our Summer Cocktail Ideas
To make our Tart Cherry Ginger Ale cocktail, you will need an ounce, and a half of Jameson poured over ice in a standard cocktail glass. Add two dashes of cherry bitters and an ounce and a half of tart cherry juice. Top the glass off with your favorite ginger ale, and give the cocktail a couple of stirs.
Serve with a fresh sprig of thyme. Simple. Unpretentious. And most of all, this is such a simple and delicious cocktail to make.
Summer Drink Made With Jameson Whiskey – Tart Cherry Ginger Ale

- 1 1/2 ounces Jameson Irish Whiskey
- 1 1/2 ounces Tart Cherry Juice
- 2 dashes cherry bitters
- Ginger Ale
- A sprig of fresh thyme
- Ice
Who brought the Malibu?
Of course, the culprit was yours truly. I stay bringing the good times, and besides, what’s not to love about Malibu? This certified sipper is imbued with the tropical taste of sweet coconut mingled with some of the best Jamaican rum this side of the paradise. Year-round, Malibu is my summertime in a bottle.
Speaking of paradise, our White Chocolate Strawberry Ice Cream Float is the kind of cocktail that will make you believe in miracles served in a cocktail glass. It starts with two ounces of white chocolate liqueur over ice. Then you will add an ounce and a half of Malibu rum. Next, add a heaping scoop of quality vanilla ice cream.
Finish the cocktail with two slices of fresh ripe strawberries and drizzle with an ounce of strawberry cocktail syrup.
Summer Drink Made With Malibu – White Chocolate Strawberry Ice Cream Float
- 1-1/2 Malibu
- 2 ounces white chocolate liqueur
- 1 large scoop vanilla ice cream
- 1 ripe strawberry cut in half
- 1 – ounce strawberry cocktail syrup
- 1 large ice cube
Directions:
Start this cocktail with two ounces of white chocolate liqueur over ice, then add an ounce and half of Malibu rum. Next, add a heaping scoop of quality vanilla ice cream. Finish the cocktail with two slices of fresh ripe strawberries and drizzle with an ounce of strawberry cocktail syrup. Serve.
