How to make a S’mores Pie – Summer Dessert Idea

As we near the summer months, it’s time to think about easy no-bake summer dessert ideas.

Frankly, this S’mores pie could work for any time of the year, but it seems we enjoy s’mores the most during the summer and autumn months.

We love s’mores, and turning them into a no-bake pie is a creative and fun way to enjoy this popular summer treat.

You can also create a s’mores dessert board, which is great for summer entertaining.

So don’t wait; whip this up for your next summer cookout, potluck dessert, or weeknight treat.

Ingredients needed to make a S'mores Pie

Ingredients needed to make a S’mores Pie

Marshmallow Creme. You can find this near the marshmallows in the baking aisle. It tends to be in a plastic container.

This gooey marshmallow mixture will elevate the pie to a whole new, delicious level.

Chocolate Pudding. Look for the instant pudding mixture you can whip up in just minutes with a whisk or your favorite hand mixer.

Milk. If you use whole milk, it offers a richer result in flavor. But feel free to use lower fat milk if this is what you have on hand.

Graham Cracker Crust. I cut a corner and bought a graham cracker crust. However,  you can purchase the ingredients to make a  homemade crust if you would prefer.

Mini Marshmallows. I prefer the mini marshmallows over the larger ones. You could use the larger marshmallows. I would recommend cutting them.

Chocolate. I used Hershey’s chocolate, but you could easily swap it with chocolate chips. I loved the idea of a classic s’mores chocolate to pair with this pie.

How do you get the chocolate pudding not to make the marshmallow cream spill out?

If you wait too long to pour the chocolate pudding into the crust, it will be so thick it will move around the pudding if you pour it in.

You can spoon the pudding mixture over the top of the marshmallow if you let it get too thick.

Is there a way to make this without the broiler?

You can use a torch if you own one. They are an inexpensive tool that is great to have on hand for your chef skills.

This is a refillable torch you can snag on Amazon if interested.

How do I store a no bake S’mores pie, and how long is it good?

You will want to store it in the fridge for five days. Make sure it is placed in a covered dish; otherwise, the pie can begin to take on odors from the refrigerator.

Is there an easy way to slice this pie?

You will find that it can be harder to cut due to the marshmallow topping.

But if you use a sharp knife and clean the blade between each slice, it creates a cleaner cut.

Also, taking the step to freeze the pie for 15-20 minutes before slicing works at helping to get a cleaner slice.
