Blue Thanksgiving Tablescape
“I’ll have a blue Christmas Thanksgiving without you…”
We’ve entered the holiday season and are getting ready for Thanksgiving next weekend. I want to share how to set your table for a holiday dinner.
If you need an affordable Thanksgiving tablescape idea, this is the one.
- Start by working with whatever dinnerware you have. Whether it’s blue, black, or white, you can turn any color into a fall-inspired table setting.
- Next, grab an assortment of pumpkins. To save a few extra dollars, you can forage for leaves or greenery for your centerpiece.
- If you don’t have cloth napkins, you can buy a pack of the color you need at the dollar store.
- Use the glassware you have on hand. Nothing has to match or look perfect; it’s about creating a lovely setting with what you have.

For this fall-inspired tablescape, we’re going all blue.
This is not a typical color for a Thanksgiving tablescape, but we’re sharing how we turned a regular blue-and-white tablescape into a fall theme.

Let’s start with this Thanksgiving table centerpiece.
Things you will need:
- narrow long cutting board
- candle holders
- blue led candles
- an assortment of mini pumpkins and small pumpkin pie pumpkins ( I have 17 mini pumpkins, six pumpkin pie sizes, and fruit)
- green stems
- blue spray paint
- assortment of apples, pears, and persimmons
I spent about $25-$30 on the assortment of pumpkins, green stems, and fruit—everything else I had on hand for this tablescape, making this an affordable holiday table setting.
Before putting your centerpiece together, spray-paint all your pumpkins. I am using Krylon’s Matte Ink Blue spray paint.
I start by laying the long, narrow cutting board in the middle of the table.
Next, I cut the green stems in half and laid about half on the board.
Then I started playing around by adding pumpkins, persimmons, pears, and apples to the board. Next, I added the candle holders and candles.
Finally, I added the rest of the green stems to the centerpiece.
Now, let’s set the table.

Blue Thanksgiving Tablescape
Here’s what we used in our holiday tablescape:
- matte blue silverware
- blue and white floral dinner and salad plates | Abi Stoneware– Anthropologie [see how we used them a Blue Summer Outdoor Tablescape]
- blue cloth napkins
- drinking glass | HomeGoods
- opera coupe |HomeGoods
- blue ribbon
- Mini white pumpkins | World Market
Here’s how we set the table.
I started by placing the blue cloth napkin, folded in half, down.
Next, I add the floral dinner and salad plates. [Optional: use ceramic pumpkins to add to your fall-inspired theme.]
I place the fork on the left side of the tableware and the knife and spoon on the right side of the plates.

I added a long blue ribbon to each coupe and placed it on the left side of the table setting, with the drinking glass on the right.
Adding ribbon to this tablescape gives it an extra razzle dazzle!
Plus, I am really into bows right now!

All right, you have everything you need to create this look.
