Our delicious Brown Sugar Latte is the real deal.

It’s the perfect substitute for hot coffee and is deliciously decadent without being overly sweet!

We use cold brew coffee or whip up a batch of espresso and chill it overnight!

To make, scoop pebbled ice into a serving glass, add coffee, brown sugar syrup, and pour in your favorite milk.

And, of course, top the whole affair with our indulgent Cinnamon Dalgona Coffee.

It’s that easy.

Oh, and don’t forget to add a Bischoff cookie!

Brown Sugar Iced Latte

Brown Sugar Latte | Iced Latte Recipe

When the warm weather of late spring and early summer arrives, we typically change up our coffee routine.

Hot coffee is great for fall and winter, but as the mercury in the thermostat climbs higher we like our morning shots of espresso in a coffee iced!

Here’s how we do it! Typically, we brew our coffee the night before and let it chill in the fridge overnight.

However, you can also purchase cold-brew coffee instead of making a shot of espresso.

Then, in the morning, it’s all about adding ice to our favorite glass, pouring coffee, a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar syrup, and adding oat milk, then giving the mixture a nice stir.

But we don’t stop there, adding a luxurious dollop or two of our favorite Cinnamon Dalgona Coffee is an easy way to take this iced coffee from good to insanely delicious!

What You Will Need To Make Our Brown Sugar Latte Recipe

Cold Brew Coffee or Chilled Espresso. Either works, and we use both. The deciding factor is time. When we remember and have the time to brew coffee the night before, we do that, but when time gets the best of us, we keep our favorite cold brew coffee in the pantry, and we are good to go!

However, you could use your espresso machine to make your espresso and put it in the fridge to chill for a few hours.

Espresso Instant Coffee. When the Dalgona coffee trend hit, we tried several instant coffee brands, and this one is our favorite. When we find something that works, we stick with it, and that is why we haven’t switched it up. It makes perfect Dalgona coffee every time!

Light Brown Sugar. When it comes to sugar we prefer using light brown sugar vs dark brown sugar for making our Dalgona coffee. Don’t have light brown sugar? No worries, regular granulated white sugar will work, too!

Ground Cinnamon. We have learned that adding a little bit of ground cinnamon to our Dalgona coffee makes it less bitter and intense.

Oatmilk. Another important part of this easy recipe is the milk. You don’t want to use regular milk, and we’ve found creamy oat milk works well with this recipe.

We are those kinds of people who like Dalgona coffee, but the taste can be a bit overpowering.

If you fall into the same camp, adding a bit of cinnamon is the remedy and the cure!

This is the magic ingredient right here! Brown sugar syrup at its best!

How to make Homemade Brown Sugar Syrup

You can try this homemade recipe, or you can also buy brown sugar syrup to save yourself time.

You will need to have a small saucepan, as well as a jar like a mason jar, to store your brown sugar syrup until you are ready to use it.

How to make Cinnamon Dalgona Coffee

*Adding a bit of cinnamon will lessen the bitterness typically associated with Dalgona coffee

The key to making a good Dalgona coffee is making sure all three ingredients are equal.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons espresso instant coffee
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons hot water
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Add the espresso instant coffee, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and hot water to a measuring cup.
  2. Mix using a hand mixer fitted with one beater.
  3. Blend the ingredients on medium-high until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  4. Spoon on top of your iced latte.

How do I make cold brew coffee?

The ratio for making cold brew coffee is 1:4.

That means using 1 cup or 1 1/2 cups of coffee grounds added to four (4) cups of room temperature water and allowing the coffee to brew for 14 to 16 hours.

After brewing the coffee, strain, and chill in the fridge until cold, or serve by pouring over ice.

Can I make cold brew coffee a day ahead?

Yes, a good cold brew coffee needs to steep for at least 14 hours, so the longer it brews, the better.

How long will cold brew or chilled espresso last in the fridge?

Cold-brew coffee will last up to two (2) weeks in the fridge.

*Protip. You can also make cold brew coffee ice cubes too!

Can I use other spices for this Brown Sugar Oat Milk Latte?

Absolutely! I love cardamom in this iced coffee recipe, too.

You can also use freshly grated nutmeg, a gingerbread spice mix, or even powdered cocoa.

Instead of running to a coffee shop, grab all the ingredients and head into the kitchen.
