School is back in session, and we’re sharing some helpful tips on how to improve your child’s education this year! 

This list of 55 Ways To Improve Your Kids Education This Year has tons of great ideas that are hands-on, as well as simple thought processes.  As a parent, your child and their education is your responsibility even more than it is the teachers. Being active and proactive in their education process will guarantee knowledgeable and well rounded future adults.

This list of 55 Ways To Improve Your Child’s Education This Year has tons of great ideas that are hands-on, as well as simple thought processes.  As a parent, your child and their education is your responsibility even more than it is the teachers. Being active and proactive in their education process will guarantee knowledgeable and well-rounded future adults.

  1. Volunteer at their school.
  2. Communicate with their teacher.
  3. Don’t get defensive.
  4. Don’t expect more than they can handle.

  6. Help with their homework.
  7. Enroll them in advanced classes.
  8. Send them to camp.
  9. Stay involved in what they are studying.
  10. Observe their strengths and encourage those.
  11. Have them tested for learning disabilities.

  13. Watch educational TV.
  14. Encourage them in subjects they enjoy.
  15. Enroll them in a charter school.
  16. Volunteer to teach a class you have a passion for or qualifications.
  17. Choose to homeschool if needed.
  18. Go to the library.
  19. Create flashcards for studying.
  20. Let them join clubs:  robotics club, math club, chess club, science club, etc.
  21. Review classwork with kids regularly.
  22. Invest in a home library.
  23. Create a homework station.
  24. Buy a chemistry set and do family experiments.
  25. Do fun hands-on science experiments in the kitchen with recipes.
  26. Host study “dates” with friends.
  27. Observe class time.
  28. Run for the school board.
  29. Get involved with the PTO or PTA.
  30. Stop focusing on grades and instead focus on knowledge.
  31. Set up homework and study schedules to follow.
  32. Encourage extracurricular activities for breaks from the school grind.
  33. Get involved in your state legislature for improved education standards.
  34. Upgrade their laptop for better connectivity.
  35. Buy encyclopedias.
  36. Encourage teens to take advanced or college classes.

  46. Make sure they get enough sleep.
  47. Keep things quiet during study time.
  48. Stop “baby talking” to your kids – speak to them as if they understand, then choose easier words if needed.
  49. Go on fun educational field trips or family trips.
  50. Get a family membership to a kid’s museum.
  51. Join a tech or makers club.
  52. Encourage learning during school breaks.
  53. Let them teach you something new.
  54. Ask their teacher what classroom needs they have and provide them.
  55. Buy educational games and toys.

 

These ways to improve your kids’ education this year are easy to implement in any family environment.  No matter how many kids you have, or what your budget may be you can easily improve their educational experience.  The bulk of these ideas are things you can do with hands-on interaction and communication. The best way for you to make sure your children have a great education is to get involved and find out what they are learning already.
