An easy and delicious fun drink to try – Recipe for Grasshopper Drink.

This mint drink is great for St. Patrick’s Day or any time of the year.

Mint Grasshopper Cocktail

 Recipe for Grasshopper Drink

They say green is the color of envy.

We like to think green is the color of a good time while you’re sippin’ on Grasshopper.

Its smooth creaminess with undertones of chocolate and mint will keep you coming back for another one! Plus, who has time for envy?

I like this recipe for this Grasshopper drink because of the minty flavor.

This recipe calls for just a few ingredients, which makes it easy to make and fun to drink.

If you’re a fan of grasshopper drinks, be sure to check out St. Germaine Grasshopper.

 What Is A Grasshopper Drink

You are missing out if you have not heard of or tried a grasshopper drink.

This drink has a minty base, making it ultra-rich and creamy to sip on.

Grab all ingredients and make this for your St. Paddy’s Day festivities. (Try our Beer Battered Shrimp with Guinness Glaze)

This green cocktail will also be ideal for serving at a St. Patrick’s Day-themed party.

Chocolate syrup swirled in martini glass

How to Make a Grasshopper Drink

1 serving

  • 2 ounces of Crème de Menthe
  • 2 ounces of Crème de Cacao
  • 2 ounces of Light Cream or Half & Half
  • Chocolate Syrup (optional, for garnish or mixing)
  • Handful of Ice
  • Grated chocolate or mint leaf (optional garnish)

You will also want a Martini or Coupe Glass

Directions:

  1. If desired, drizzle chocolate syrup inside the glass for decoration.
  2. Fill a shaker with ice, then add 2 ounces of Crème de Menthe, 2 ounces of Crème de Cacao, and 2 ounces of Cream (or Half & Half).
  3. Cover and shake well until chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
  5. Garnish with grated chocolate or a mint leaf, if desired.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

What Does A Grasshopper Cocktail Taste Like

If you love the flavor of a peppermint patty, this is what you can imagine this minty cocktail to taste like.

With the cream and chocolate paired with the minty flavor, it literally tastes like candy, but in drink form.

Can I Use Ice Cream As A Base

Want to make this into a dessert?

Whip up your drink and pour over a scoop of ice cream, or blend all the mixture in a blender for a milkshake.

Either way, this elevates the overall flavor of this grasshopper cocktail recipe!

What If I Don’t Have A Shaker To Make Cocktail

If you don’t own a cocktail shaker, no worries.

You can still make your favorite cocktails and mixed drinks.

Just take a cup with a screw-tight lid or even a mason jar.

Add ice and shake away. Then, pour the mixture into the cup. Use the lid to prevent the ice from getting in the drink.

Everything about this looks delicious! I LOVE mint. I’m actually going to a party with a bunch of old college friends this weekend and now I’m thinking I’m going to bring the ingredients to make this.
