Boozy drinks are perfect for the holidays. Mix in a little eggnog, rum, mint chocolate chip ice-cream, and you have a festive holiday cocktail! Our Mint Chocolate Chip Eggnog Punch is ready to be the talk of Christmas dinner. Or, if you're hosting Cousin Eddie and the fam, then you'll want to keep dipping your mug in this punch bowl!

Mint Chocolate Chip Eggnog Punch

I like the holidays, and if you are going to celebrate, you might as well have lots of delicious food and good drinks to keep things moving.

This is where our Mint Chocolate Chip Eggnog Punch comes in as perhaps the most festive drink you’ll ever say, “CHEERS!” to.

So, we are toasting it big time and keeping it extra minty and super frosty.

Plus, if you are a mint chocolate chip ice cream fan, this one may be right up your alley.

The Best Holiday Punches

This excellent punch starts with heaps of mint chocolate chip ice cream, then we add a long, silky pour of eggnog.

It’s a great combination of flavors, smooth, rich, and minty.

It’s like Kris Kringle snapped his fingers and magically conjured all things Christmas in cocktail form.

But just in case Mr. Kringle is busy with Santa duties, we have the recipe for you. You’re welcome!

The Best White Rum Cocktails

When it comes to holiday cocktails, I think rum-flavored cocktails are a pretty good choice, and this mixed drink ain’t playing any games when it comes to getting the party started!

It practically has Christmas written all over it.

The Best Ice Cream Cocktails

After one taste, you and yours will be returning to the punch bowl time and time again.

I suggest you get the industrial-size punch bowl for this one.

The Best Mint Cocktails

Mint Chocolate Chip Eggnog Punch

serving 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart and a half of mint chocolate chip ice cream (We love Hudsonville’s brand of real, creamy ice cream!)
  • 1-quart chilled eggnog (I recommend Southern Comfort Vanilla Spice Eggnog)
  • 1 cup Blanco or mojito rum
  • 2 1/2 cups chilled ginger beer
  • 3 tablespoons peppermint syrup
  • additional mint chocolate chip ice cream for garnish
  • candy canes for garnish

Directions:

  1. Into a blender, add the mint chocolate chip ice cream, chilled eggnog, rum, and peppermint syrup.
  2. Pulse into the mixture is smooth, and the consistency is that of a milkshake. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a punch bowl or pitcher. Then gently stir in the chilled ginger beer.
  4. When you’re ready to serve, ladle or pour into each glass, then top with a scoop of ice cream.
  5. Garnish with a candy cane.
  6. Serve immediately.

Essential Holiday Cocktails

Can I Make This Eggnog Punch Ahead Of Time?

You can prepare the ice cream, eggnog, rum, and peppermint syrup up to 1 hour ahead and keep them covered in the fridge.

Stir well before serving, then add the ginger beer right before serving to keep it fizzy.

Should I Blend The Ginger Beer?

No. Do not blend it. Gently stir the ginger beer in at the end to maintain its carbonation and prevent flatness or unexpected fizzing in the blender, helping you feel confident in your technique.

What Kind Of Rum Works Best?

Blanco rum or mojito-style rum keeps the punch light and fresh. Dark rum will overpower the mint and chocolate flavors.

The Best Spiked Eggnog Cocktails

Can I Make This A Non-Alcoholic Eggnog Punch?

Yes. Replace the rum with additional eggnog or ginger beer. You’ll still get a creamy, festive punch without the booze.

How Many People Does This Recipe Serve?

This recipe serves 6–8 people, depending on the size of the glasses. Plan for seconds; this one disappears fast.

Can I Adjust The Thickness?

Absolutely. Add more eggnog to thin it out. Add more ice cream to make it thicker.

Ice cream brands vary, so adjust as needed.

Does This Punch Store Well?

Not really. This punch is best served fresh.

Once the ice cream melts and carbonation fades, the magic’s gone.

So string up the mistletoe, get the Christmas karaoke going, and celebrate like you’re thankful, alive, and loving life!
