Take the classic Moscow Mule recipe, and put a summertime twist with the taste of fresh watermelon. This Watermelon Moscow Mule is built with Grey Goose Vodka, the mule kick of ginger beer, and refreshing watermelon, and the tantalizing sweetness of watermelon pucker.

Moscow Mule Idea | Unique Watermelon Moscow Mule

If you haven’t noticed, (of course you’ve noticed) Moscow Mules are all the rage. And if you are a fan of this oddly named cocktail creation, then we think you may fall head over heels for our Watermelon Moscow Mule. If you know how to make a classic Moscow Mule, then you aren’t going to have a difficult time putting the finishing touches on our easy-to-make version.

Right now, it’s mid-summer, and you could swing a bat and hit a watermelon. They’re nearly everywhere and so easy to find at your local grocery stores, farmer’s markets, and even on in makeshift stalls along country lanes. So, really there is little excuse not to imbibe in this beautiful ice-cold creation. Or how about other melons too? While we’re at it, how about expanding on the melon theme and slicing up a mess of cantaloupe or honeydew? Melons are super refreshing and pair well with the ingredients found in a Moscow Mule. Doesn’t the watermelon look so good?!

And like any solid cocktail recipe, you got to have the right ingredients, because the output is directly affected by the input. So, we used a solid vodka, Grey Goose. The delicious flavor of Dekuyper Watermelon Pucker, and one of my favorites, Fever Tree Ginger Beer, and we can’t pull off a respectable Moscow Mule without lime. But the fresh watermelon slices are what brings it all together!

Watermelon Moscow Mule Recipe

Ingredients:

Watermelon
Grey Goose Vodka (or any Vodka)
Ginger beer
Watermelon puck
Ice

Equipment:

Directions:

In a Cocktail Shaker, add fresh lime juice, vodka, watermelon pucker, and ice. Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a copper mug filled with fresh ice and ginger beer. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, a wheel of juicy lime, and a watermelon wedge. Serve.

Grey Goose anyone? Start with premium vodka, usually an ounce to an ounce, and a half-ounce pour is sufficient. Any more than that, and who needs the rest of the ingredients??

Summertime is one of my favorite times of the year to create a delicious cocktail. I often visit local farmer’s markets for inspiration. Lots of fresh, sweet, and juicy ingredients galore!?

I also look in our home herb garden for fresh flavors. The mint is running riot, but that’s okay because mint is often a common garnish in lots of our summertime cocktails. But don’t just stop at the mint, consider other herbs as well. Try other flavorful herbs like basil, sage, lavender, and rosemary or thyme. All of these herbs add unique flavor profiles that can liven and take your cocktails to the next level! ?

And remember, there are no rules when it comes to creating refreshing and delicious cocktails. Let your imagination run wild, and don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Cheers!
