This post was sponsored by Amazon as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central, and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. The Amazon Fire TV Recast and the Fire TV Stick are great gift ideas for the whole family. I’m sharing why our family loves these Amazon products and why you need to have them!
A Gift For the Whole Family – Amazon Fire TV Recast
Watching our favorite shows just got a whole lot easier with a few new gadgets for Christmas, thanks to Amazon.
We’ve been using several Amazon devices for the past few years now, including the Amazon Echo Dot, the Amazon Fire, and several Fire Kindles. And tomorrow the boys are getting their own Amazon Echo Dots for their rooms versus taking the one we have in the kitchen.
These devices have been a game changer, allowing us to easily look up things with just a command, playing our favorite music with curated playlists, and even enhancing our family game nights.
Why do I need a Fire TV Recast?
That was my initial question. However, after tinkering around with it, we’re excited about all the possibilities we can do with this device. And what is a Fire TV Recast you may ask. It is a DVR, allowing you to watch and record over-the-air TV with a Fire TV or Echo Show. You can also use a compatible mobile device to do this as well.
Well, what if I already have DVR through my cable provider? Here’s the beauty of investing in a Fire TV Recast. THERE ARE NO MONTHLY FEES!
We love to watch our favorite basketball teams play, late night shows, and local news. We can do that all with a Fire TV Recast, as well as additional channels with the HD antenna. The HD antenna is sold separately but highly recommended.
You can record up to two shows at once, and the Fire TV Recast can store up to 75 hours of HD programming. We can also now talk to our TV and tell it to do things versus using a remote. Just as easy as it is to ask Alexa to play music, we can ask Alexa to “open Channel Guide” or “pull up DVD recordings.”
With five people in this house, all with a variety of interests and shows, having a Fire TV Recast is just what our family needs this Christmas as our family gift.
You will want to make sure you purchase a Fire TV Stick (or another compatible device), connecting both to the same network and on the same Amazon account as the Fire TV Recast.
Why the Fire TV Stick is the gift that keeps on giving
The Fire TV Stick is the most powerful 4K streaming media stick, allowing you to watch all of your favorite shows. You don’t need cable to use a Fire TV stick which is the beauty of this- another way to save money. You can also connect premium channels like SHOWTIME, CBS All Access, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, STARZ and more to your account (these channels do require a separate subscription). There is so much you can do with a Fire TV Stick, and this is why our family loves having one. We love our Fire TV Sticks so much; we have one connected to each TV throughout the house.
The setup process was super easy to figure out and setup. I downloaded the Fire TV mobile app to my smartphone.
I followed the prompts on my phone, guiding me through the process of setting up the Fire TV Recast and connecting it to my Fire TV Stick.
It even gave me suggestions on where to place the Ultra Thin Indoor TV Antenna.
Once we had everything hooked up, it was time to test it out. Derrick was impressed with how well of a signal we received with the HD Antenna, streaming some of his favorite shows. During the time we were setting up the Fire TV Recast, one of his friends stopped by, and we were showing him how easy it was to set up this system, and why he needed one. After seeing ours in action, I believe we convinced that he could cut his cable and get the Fire TV Recast, Fire TV Stick, and the Ultra Thin Indoor TV Antenna.
So, this holiday season if you’re thinking about a great gift idea for the fam, the Fire TV Recast comes highly recommended by the Worthey family.
