We even added a festive crushed peppermint rim to this Cranberry Margarita. Grab the deets down below!
Frozen Cranberry Margarita with Peppermint Rim
I am protesting. Why? Well, because I think it should be margarita month every month! I mean, don’t you agree? And to plead my case, I made a festive Frozen Cranberry Margarita with Peppermint Rim just in time for the holiday season.
And with Christmas just around the corner, you’re gonna need something to entertain your guests, and this one is sure to be a hit!
And the good news about this cocktail is it is so darn easy to make! Basically, it’s like a classic margarita recipe, but we’ve tossed in the cranberry juice and rimmed the glass with lots of crushed candy cane.
And making it a frozen margarita just seemed right for the holiday season.
Who knew cranberry juice and Blanco tequila would be a match made in holiday cocktail-making-heaven? So refreshingly good!
We tossed all of the ingredients into the blender and LET IT WHIP! LET’S WHIP IT, BABY! YES! We’re spreading good cheer!
Ingredients You Need For This Cranberry Margarita
Tequila – Quality tequila is going to really enhance the flavor and offer that smooth and crisp margarita you know and love.
Triple Sec – If you can’t get your hands on triple sec you can buy some Curacao or a simple syrup that will sweeten you cocktail.
Lime Juice – Reach for fresh lime juice, do not buy bottled lime. The fresh lime is going to be the acidic component you want and offer that tangy and puckering sensation.
Cranberry Juice – I love cranberry in this margarita. It really brings the tart next to the sweet and citrus bite. This cocktail works perfectly together.
Peppermint Stick – Now the peppermint is one that is going to really wow you. It is something different but the mint really completes the cocktail.
Can I Use A Flavored Cranberry Juice
If you have a cran raspberry or even a cran grape it will work. You just got to watch what flavor of cranberry juice you pair with to ensure it mixes with the peppermint and lime.
Can I Make This Margarita In Advance
Whether you make an iced or frozen margarita you will find it is best served fresh. The ice as it melts will unfortunately water down the margarita quite a bit and take away flavor.
I recommend planning to make it right before serving.
Can I Store Leftover Cranberry Margarita
If you don’t drink all your cranberry margaritas you can store in the fridge. But just know as the ice melts it will of course water down the drink quite a bit.
How to Make a Simple Syrup
Simple syrup can be made in as little as 5 minutes! Best part of all is you just need water and sugar. Cook up the two as directed and you have a sweet syrup to flavor all your cocktails. Store the leftovers in the fridge for a few weeks.
All you need to do is add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup granulated sugar into a pan on the stove. Heat on medium heat. You want to heat until all the sugar granules are fully melted. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
Once the sugar is melted just remove from heat, let cool and then use for your cocktails and mixed drinks.
